Cutlass V6-191 3.1L VIN M SFI (1998)
1. Install the new seal using the J 41102. Lubricate the seal lip with a light swipe of transmission oil.
2. Install the two new snap rings (57) on the stub shaft.
IMPORTANT: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do not allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface,
otherwise damage to the seal will occur.
3. Install stub shaft (58) into the transmission using a mallet.
4. Install the drive axle.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Inspect for leaks.
7. Check the oil level, refer to Transmission, Fluid Checking Procedure (Oil Level Check).
