Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT Sensor

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Relieve coolant pressure.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
4. Carefully remove sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Coat threads with sealant: P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2. ECT sensor into engine.

Tighten
ECT sensor to 25 Nm (18.5 lb. ft.).

3. ECT sensor electrical connector
4. Negative battery cable.
5. Refill lost coolant.
