FRONT
Refer to Figs. 12 through 15 during the following procedure.
Fixed Column
1. Remove ignition and dimmer switches as outlined under Starting and Charging/Starting System/Ignition Switch/Service and Repair. See:
Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove shaft lock cover, then shaft retaining ring using tool No. J 23653-C, or equivalent, to push down shaft lock. Dispose of ring.
4. Remove shaft lock, then turn signal cancelling cam assembly.
