Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Description and Operation
Cooling Fans
Primary Fan
This engine is equipped with primary and secondary cooling fans. The primary fan operates when engine temperature is greater than 227° F. When
vehicle speed is less than 50 MPH and A/C is requested the fan will operate. The fan will turn On when A/C pressure exceeds 190 psi and A/C is
requested.
Secondary Fan
The secondary cooling fan will operate when engine coolant temperature is greater than 245° F. When A/C is requested and the vehicle speed is less
than 50 MPH, then the fan will turn On. The fan will operate when A/C refrigerant pressure is greater than 246 psi.
