1.
Remove engine as outlined under ENGINE.
2.
Remove intake manifold as outlined under INTAKE MANIFOLD.
3.
Remove rocker arm covers.
4.
Remove rocker arms, pushrods and valve lifters.
5.
Remove engine front cover as outlined under ENGINE FRONT COVER.
6.
Align timing marks of camshaft and crankshaft sprocket. Remove timing chain and sprockets.
7.
Remove cam sensor magnet assembly and camshaft thrust plate if applicable.
8.
Slide camshaft forward out of bearing bores, using care so as not to damage bearing surfaces.
9.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure crankshaft and camshaft timing marks as shown in Fig. 6.
b. Torque all bolts/nuts to specifications.
