Standby Power Supply: Service and Repair
Do not open the DERM case for any reason. Touching the connector pins or soldered components may cause electrostatic discharge damage.
Repair of a faulty DERM is by replacement only.
1.
Disarm airbag system as described under ``Airbag System Disarming.''
2.
Remove right sound insulator.
3.
Remove accelerator pedal and bracket assembly.
4.
Release connector position assurance (CPA), then disconnect DERM electrical connector.
5.
Loosen nuts and remove DERM from vehicle.
6.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten to specifications.
b. Rearm airbag system as described under ``Airbag System Arming.''
