3.

Remove steering column trim collar and the lower steering column trim panel.

4.

Remove screws attaching right and left sound absorbers to instrument panel.

5.

Disconnect shift indicator clip from shift bowl.

6.

Loosen instrument panel mounting bracket nut near steering column.

7.

Remove right courtesy lamp.

8.

Remove 3 bolts and one nut attaching the steering column to steering column support, then lower the column. (Refer to section 3B6 in the 1983
Firenza, Omega & Cutlass Ciera Chassis Service Manual.)

9.

Remove three (3) lower instrument panel attaching screws.

10.

Remove four (4) upper instrument panel attaching screws.

11.

Pull instrument panel rearward and loosen four (4) defroster duct screws.

12.

Remove existing "J" nuts and install revised "J" nuts.

13.

Reverse removal procedure for installation.
