3. Install new O-ring on sensor, then coat threads with suitable sealer. Torque sensor to 30 inch lbs.
4. Remove cover J-29657, then install air cleaner and air crossover.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner and air crossover, Fig. 47, and install air screen J-29657.
3. Disconnect injection pump fuel solenoid, housing pressure cold advance wires and fuel return pipe.
4. Clean injection pump cover, upper portion of pump and guide stud area. Position shop cloths to absorb fuel.
5. Remove injection pump cover screws, then cover. Use care to avoid any foreign matter from entering pump when cover is removed. If any
object or foreign matter enter pump, it must be removed before starting engine as injection pump damage or engine damage may occur.
6. Note position of metering valve spring before removal as its position must be duplicated exactly during reassembly, Fig. 55.
7. Remove guide stud and washer, noting location of parts before removal.
8. Refer to steps 21 thru 27 under "Throttle Shaft Seal, Replace" procedure for reassembly of "Pump Cover Seal And/Or Guide Stud."
