Compressor/Pump: Testing and Inspection
Compressor Operates Continuously W/Ignition on
Exc. 1984-85 Cutlass Ciera & 1985 98
1.
Raise and support rear of vehicle.
2.
Disconnect height sensor wire connector.
a. If compressor stops running. Refer to ``Height Sensor Operational Check.''
b. If compressor continues running, check for grounded condition in yellow wire between height sensor and compressor relay. If circuit is
satisfactory, check compressor relay for closed contacts at all times.
During above procedure, if testing time requires more than 3 1/2
minutes to complete, cycle ignition switch ``Off'' and back ``On'' to reset compressor run time.
