Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick Tube: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove the spark plug wire harness from the spark plug number five cylinder.
2. Remove the bolt from the tube.
3. Remove the oil level indicator and tube.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the tube.
2. Apply sealant around the tube 12.7 mm (0.50 inches) below the bead. Use GM sealant P/N 12345493 or the equivalent.
3. Install the tube into the engine block.
4. Install the bolt. Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the oil level indicator.
6. Connect the spark plug wire harness to the spark plug number five cylinder.
