Some 1988-89 Cutlass Supreme models assembled prior to the VIN breakpoint KD305168 may exhibit a whistling noise coming from the rear of the
vehicle when the tank pressure control valve is venting to the carbon canister.

This noise condition is most apparent from outside the vehicle with the engine shut-off after operation at higher ambient temperatures.

In diagnosing this condition, if the noise is eliminated by removal of the fuel tank filler cap, the vehicle may be repaired by installation of fuel tank
sender, P/N 25026737 and vapor carbon canister, P/N 17089089 following applicable service manual procedures.
