CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL INSTALLATION
Each vehicle modified in accordance with the instructions outlined in this procedure will require a Campaign Identification Label. Each label provides a
space to include the campaign number, the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service, and the date the vehicle was
campaigned. This information may be inserted with a typewriter or ballpoint pen. When installing label, clean the surface of the radiator upper mounting
support and apply the campaign label where it is readily visible.
PARTS INFORMATION
The correct quantity of parking brake lever assemblies are being shipped to each dealer with vehicles involved on a "NO CHARGE" basis. They WILL
NOT BE billed on the dealer parts account. Dealers should not order from WDDGM. If transfers make additional parts necessary, contact your zone
office.
Replaced parts are to be retained for disposition by zone personnel.

TO ALL OLDSMOBILE DEALERS:
Oldsmobile Division is releasing Campaign 87-C-01 involving certain 1987 Firenza models that fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 105: "Hydraulic Brake Systems." These vehicles might have been assembled with parking brake lever mechanisms
which will not properly engage when applied.
In some of these vehicles, the parking brake can be applied and appear to be properly engaged and later, when the vehicle is unattended, it could
disengage. If the transmission were neither in gear (manual transmission) nor in Park (automatic transmission), the vehicle could unexpectedly roll. In
such an instance, the vehicle might roll away uncontrolled, which could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.
To correct this condition, dealers are to replace the parking brake lever assembly as outlined in Product Campaign Bulletin 87-C-01. Dealers are being
shipped correct quantities of the new parking brake lever assemblies to complete those vehicles on their printout.
This letter is notice to you that the new motor vehicles included in this campaign may not comply with the standard identified above. Under Sections 108
and 114 of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, it is illegal to sell a new motor vehicle which the dealer knows does not comply with an
applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. As a consequence, if you sell any of these motor vehicles without first performing the campaign
correction, your dealership may be subject to a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for each such sale.
If your dealership has vehicles involved in this campaign, you will receive the following: one printout of vehicles in VIN sequence and one printout of
vehicles in alphabetical sequence by owner name.
These printouts contain the complete Vehicle Identification Number and owner name and address data, and are furnished to the involved dealers with the
campaign bulletin. Owner name and address data will enable dealers to follow up with owners involved in this campaign.
These listings may contain owner names and addresses obtained from State Motor Vehicle Registration records. The use of such motor vehicle
registration data for any other purpose is a violation of law in several states. Accordingly, you are urged to limit the use of this listing to the followup
necessary to complete this campaign.
