Dear Oldsmobile Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
REASON FOR RECALL
General Motors has determined a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1987 Oldsmobile Firenza models equipped with 2.0L
engine. The fuel feed and/or return hose/pipe assemblies could crack or separate, allowing fuel to leak into the underhood area. This condition could
ultimately result in an underhood fire without prior warning. Such a fire could, in time, spread to the passenger compartment and cause injury to any
remaining occupants.
WHAT WE WILL DO
To prevent the possibility of this condition occurring, both the fuel feed and return hose/pipe assemblies will be replaced. This service will be performed
for you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Contact your Oldsmobile Dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. Instructions have been sent to your Dealer. It is estimated that parts will be
available on or about December 17, 1987. The labor time to perform the work is about one (1) hour. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how
much additional time will be necessary to process your vehicle.
Your Oldsmobile Dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to promptly correct your vehicle. However, if you take your vehicle to your
dealer on the agreed service date, and they do not remedy this condition then or within five days, we suggest you contact the nearest Oldsmobile Zone
Office, either in person or by telephone. The Zone Office will assist you and the dealer in getting your vehicle corrected. The locations and telephone
numbers of the Zone offices are listed in the Warranty and Owner Assistance Information booklet.
After contacting your dealer and the Zone Office, if you are still not satisfied that we have done our best to remedy this condition without charge and
within a reasonable time, you may write the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh St., S.W., Washington, D.C.

Please give the enclosed owner reply card to your dealer so they can quickly identify your vehicle and the condition which needs correcting. If you no
longer have this vehicle, please let us know by completing the card and mailing it back to us. The postage has been paid for you.
