NOTICE: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL (R) or HAVOLINE (R) DEX-COOL (R) coolant. If
Coolant other than DEX-COOL (R) or HAVOLINE (R) DEX-COOL (R) is added to the system the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50
000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.
1. Install the water pump gasket.
2. Install the water pump.
3. Use the J 36660 in order to install the water pump bolts.

Tighten the water pump bolts (long) to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) plus 40 degrees.

Tighten the water pump bolts (short) to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) plus 80 degrees.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the water pump pulley.
5. Loosely install the water pump pulley bolts.
6. Install the power steering pump.
7. Install the drive belt.
8. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts.

Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.)
9. Fill the engine cooling system with engine coolant.
