Techline Equipment

Important: 

Perform this procedure ONLY when the scan tool is unable to complete the Setup New BCM described previously. Do NOT perform this procedure
without attempting the New BCM procedure with the scan tool first.

There are two ways of performing the service programming system method, depending on the type of Techline equipment available:

Direct Programming: Techline equipment directly connected to the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC).

^

Indirect Programming: Techline equipment using scan tool to access the vehicle's DLC.

Read both procedures carefully and completely before proceeding. Perform one of them, either the direct or indirect programming. Do not perform both
procedures.

Important: 

Upon finishing successfully with this procedure, you must proceed with the Theft Deterrent Re-Learn procedure. Failure to perform the Theft
Deterrent Re-Learn procedure after a new BCM installation on the vehicle, the vehicle may not be protected against theft by the Passlock system, or
the engine will not crank or start.

Direct Programming

1.

Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM from Tech line Navigator.

2.

Select SPS/EEPROM on the Diagnostic Menu.

3.

Select TERMINAL TO VEHICLE for the Programming Method.

4.

Select NEW VEHICLE and follow screen instructions.

5.

Connect the Data Link Connector (DLC) cable to the vehicle.

6.

Turn the ignition switch on.

7.

Select OK. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) will be read. If the VIN cannot be read, VIN will need to be entered manually.

8.

Select SPECIAL.

9.

Select PROGRAM BY VCI.

10.

Enter 1008 for VCI number and select DONE.

11.

Verify that the DLC cable is connected to vehicle and turn the ignition switch on.

12.

Summary of selected calibrations is displayed with BCM calibrations. Make sure to select correct calibration based on vehicle features.

13.

Select PROGRAM.

14.

Select YES to confirm programming.

Indirect Programming

1.

Connect scan tool to the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).

2.

Turn the ignition switch on.

3.

Using scan tool, select VEHICLE YEAR and TYPE.

4.

Select REQUEST INFORMATION soft key.

5.

Disconnect scan tool from the vehicle.

6.

Connect scan tool to terminal.

7.

Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM from the Techline Navigator.

8.

Select SPS/EEPROM on the Diagnostic Menu.
