8. Press the lock on the adjuster body.
IMPORTANT: The cable should move freely within the adjuster body.
9. Connect the park lock cable to the shift control.
10. Verify that the park lock system operates properly.

The ignition rotates to LOCK only when the shift control is in Park.

The shift control moves out of Park only when the ignition is in ACC or RUN.
IMPORTANT: The brake pedal must be pressed in order to move the shift control out of park when the ignition is in RUN.
11. Readjust the adjuster body, if necessary.
12. Install the front floor console trim plate.
13. Release the park brake and remove the wheel blocks.
