3. Perform a hood drop test to determine the need for up/down latch adjustment. The hood drop test will determine the amount of drop force required

for the striker to fully engage with the latch.

A. Place a ruler capable of measuring millimeters, between the hood and fender.
B. Raise the hood so that the front upper edge is 80mm (3 1/8 inch) above the top surface of the fender. This part of the test will determine if the

latch is set to high.

C. Drop the hood. The striker should not engage with the latch.
D. Repeat the test by increasing the measurement to 95mm. If the striker engages with the latch below 110mm (4 1/4 inch) test height, the latch is

too high.

E. Repeat the test at 110mm (4 1/4 inch) and 160mm (6 3/8 inch). The striker should engage in this range. If the striker does not engage at 1

60mm (6 3/8 inch) the latch is too low.

F. Adjust latch as necessary and tighten bolts.

Tighten

Bolts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb. in.).

G. Verify the proper operation of the latch.
