Unit Repair

The air tubes can be repaired by splicing in a coupling at the leaking area:
1. Inflate system to 690 kPa (100 psi) and locate leak using a soap-water solution or stethoscope.
2. Deflate system.
3. Cut and remove the leaking tube section.
4. Splice replacement tube to existing line.

a. Remove plastic retainer pin from one of the nuts and slide replacement tube into nut until it bottoms in the rubber seal.
b. Holding the tube in position, tighten the nut to 8 Nm (70 inch lbs.).
c. Attach original tube to other end of coupling, as described in Steps a and b.
d. Using a tie strap, secure tube to vehicle where it will not be pinched and will not contact the exhaust system.

5. Inflate system and check again for leaks.
