The type of hub cap or center cap is determined by the wheel style. There are several types of hub caps, and their removal and installation is
straightforward in most cases.

Most can be removed with a steady push from the back side, and can be installed by hand. A hammer is not recommended for removing or installing hub
caps, because damage to the caps might occur. While removing a hub cap, be sure to protect it from damage; be careful not to drop it or lay it face down,
such that it would be scratched or damaged.

Some hub caps use a metal retainer having barbs that must be sprung loose from the wheel by hand or screwdriver. Others have an alignment tab or pin
which must be aligned with a notch or hole in the wheel for proper installation.
