Standby Power Supply: Service and Repair
Removal
1.
Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2.
Remove front seat (passenger seat only if independent).
3.
Bend up carpet retention tabs, then roll back carpet to expose SIR control center cover.
4.
Remove cover, then remove screws securing energy reserve module to bracket.
5.
Disconnect energy reserve module connector from harness assembly. Wiggle connector when removing from module, do not attempt to pry
up lock tabs on connector.
6.
Remove energy reserve module.
Installation
1.
Install energy reserve module, securing to bracket with screws.
2.
Connect energy reserve module connector to harness assembly.
3.
Install sensing system cover to bracket, ensuring attaching screws are fully driven, seated and not stripped.
4.
Install carpet in position and bend down carpet retention tabs.
5.
Install front seat, then activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.

6.
Use tester J-36884 to verify proper voltage at SIR test connector, Fig. 311, by performing steps 22 and 23 of DIAGNOSTIC TESTER
SEQUENCE under DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING/DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.
