18. Case side cover.
CLEAN
^
Case and side cover gasket surfaces
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New gaskets on case.
2. Side cover and new bolts.
TIGHTEN
^
Side cover bolts to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
3. Oil cooler pipes.
TIGHTEN
^
Oil cooler pipes to 16 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Raise transaxle so frame bolts can be installed.
5. Three frame-to-body bolts.
TIGHTEN
^
Frame-to-body bolts to 112 Nm (83 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove transmission jack.
7. Intermediate shaft to steering gear.
8. Pinch bolt at intermediate shaft.
TIGHTEN
^
Pinch bolt to 62 Nm (45 lb. ft.).
9. Drive axle.
10. Ball joint to steering knuckle.
11. Remove drive axle seal protectors.
12. Stabilizer bar link to lower control arm.
13. Tie rod end to knuckle.
TIGHTEN
^
Nut to 50 Nm (37 lb. ft.).
14. Inner splash shield.
15. Left front wheel and tire assembly.
16. Lower vehicle.
17. Park/Neutral switch connector.
18. Cruise control servo vacuum hoses.
19. Negative battery cable.
INSPECT
^
For leaks.
^
Fluid level.
