Fuel Injector: Description and Operation
Fuel injectors are normally closed solenoid valves that open when energized. Injectors get power when the ignition is turned to the "START" or "ON"
position and are energized when the PCM completes the circuit to ground. Each injector has its own ground circuit through the PCM. Injectors are
operated individually. Fuel quantity is regulated by varying the length of time the injectors are energized during each injection cycle (injector pulse
width).
