1. Remove and discard large retaining clamp from tri-pot joint, then small retaining clamp from axle shaft.
2. Separate seal from tri-lobe tri-pot bushing at large diameter and slide seal away from joint along axle shaft.
3. Remove tri-pot housing from spider and shaft, then spread spacer ring with snap ring pliers and slide spacer ring and tri-pot spider back on axle

shaft.

4. Remove shaft retaining ring from groove on axle shaft and slide spider assembly off shaft.
5. Inspect tri-pot balls and needle rollers for wear or damage. Handle tri-pot assembly with care; tri-pot balls and needle roller may separate from

trunnions.

6. Remove tri-lobe tri-pot bushing from tri-pot housing, then spacer ring and seal from axle shaft. Flush grease from tri-pot housing.
7. Inspect joint seal, spider, housing and tri-lobe bushing for damage or wear.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure counterbored face of tri-pot spider faces end of shaft.
