Silhouette V6-3800 3.8L (1992)
^ When activated, it redirects the exhausting fluid to act upon the TCC shift valve
^ May be applied in 3rd or 4th gear
^ Supplied by ignition through the brake switch
^ There is one diagnostic trouble code associated with the solenoid
-
Diagnostic Trouble Code 26 QDM output problem
^ Detects a short or open failure in the circuit
-
The Failsafe actions are:
^ No failsafe action is taken but the failure modes are:
-
Failed ON
^ TCC on in 3rd and 4th gears
-
Failed OFF
^ TCC does not apply
-
It will function normally again when no faults are indicated
TCC PWM Solenoid
^ Replaces the TCC accumulator
^ Is electronically controlled by the PCM
^ A duty cycle (pulse width modulation PWM) is used to control the PWM solenoid. This allows the PWM solenoid to regulate TCC apply/release feel
by varying the PWM solenoid position.
^ There is one diagnostic trouble code associated with this solenoid
-
Diagnostic trouble code 26 or 56 QDM output problem (depending on vehicle application)
^ Detects a short or open failure in the circuit
-
The Failsafe actions are:
^ No failsafe action is taken but the failure modes are:
-
Failed ON (No power - off - stuck open)
^ TCC applies with maximum pressure (harsh apply/release feel)
- Failed OFF (full power - on - stuck closed)
^ TCC does not apply (TCC will slip badly - not fully applied)
-
It will function normally again when no faults are indicated
-
The PWM does nothing if the TCC solenoid is off
