Silhouette FWD V6-3.4L VIN E (2004)
1. Remove the rubber plug from the brake hose bolt hole of the brake caliper.
Important: Install NEW copper brake hose gaskets (3).
2. Assemble the brake hose bolt (4) and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets (3) to the brake hose (5).
Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the brake hose bolt (4) to the brake caliper (2).

Tighten the bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
Notice:
Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked after installation. Damage to the hose could result.
Important: Use the stripe on the brake hose in order to align the brake hose with the notch in the brake hose bracket.
4. install the brake hose (3) to the brake hose bracket (2).
5. Install the brake hose retainer (4) to the brake hose (3).
6. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end.
7. Install the brake pipe fitting (1) to the brake hose (3).

Tighten the fitting to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
Caution:
Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Air in the brake system can cause the loss of brakes with possible
personal injury.
