In the event you are contacted by an owner involved in this campaign whose name/VIN does not appear on your print-out, one of the following steps can
be used for radio type identification.

Contact your local Oldsmobile Zone Office and provide them with the VIN of the vehicle.

Inspect the vehicles Service Parts Identification Label inside trunk lid for radio sales code.

Physically inspect radio, refer to figure 5.

TO ALL ASSISTANT ZONE MANAGERS-SERVICE/ZONE SERVICE MANAGERS:
Oldsmobile Division is releasing Campaign 86-C-04 involving certain 1986 Toronado models. These vehicles may have been assembled with radios or
radios with console mounted cassette tape players that will not completely turn off.
To correct this condition, dealers are to replace the radio receiver and the console mounted cassette tape player (if equipped) on vehicles involved.
Wherever possible, the replacement component(s) should be obtained as outlined in Campaign Bulletin 86-C-04 prior to the customer taking his vehicle
to the dealer for this correction.
The owner notification letter asks the owner to contact his Oldsmobile dealer and arrange a service date to ensure that a replacement radio and, if
equipped, a console mounted cassette tape player will be available for installation at the time the vehicle is taken to the dealer for correction.
To assist dealers in determining radio system type without physically inspecting the vehicle, printouts furnished to dealers who have vehicles involved in
this campaign will list (in the right margin) a code for the original equipment radio system for each vehicle. Refer to the radio identification section of
Campaign 86-C-04 for complete details.
Dealers have been advised that they may contact their zone office to determine the original equipment radio system a vehicle was built with in the event
they are contacted by an owner whose VIN does not appear on their printout.
Original equipment radio system sales codes can be determined by viewing the UPC field of the VFI file.
Attached is a zone check sheet showing the number of cars each zone has to correct.
Assistant Zone Managers-Service and Zone Service Managers will receive the following materials:
25 copies of Product Campaign Bulletin 86-C-04 25 copies of the Dealer Letter 25 copies of the Owner Letter 2 copies of the dealer printout 1 set of
microfiche in dealer VIN sequence
