Dear Oldsmobile Owner:
General Motors has determined that some 1986 Toronados may have been assembled with an incompletely programmed body computer module. As a
result, the information center function of the electronic instrument cluster may not be capable of displaying the following driver information messages:

A/C System Problem ^ Cruise Set At
^
Low Refrigerant ^ Cruise Problem
^
Generator Problem ^ Lighting Problem
^
Press System Monitor (With optional twilight To Silence Chime sentinel only)
To correct this condition, your Oldsmobile dealer will determine if the body computer module is programmed to allow the display of all driver
information messages and, if required, will install a new EEPROM (integrated circuit board) in the body computer module. This service will be
performed at no charge to you.
Instructions for making this inspection/correction have been sent to your Oldsmobile dealer. Please contact your dealer to arrange a service date.
The enclosed owner reply card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist in making the necessary correction in the
shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage-paid owner reply card and returning it to us.
