LOW OIL LEVEL MESSAGE NORMAL OPERATION
MODELS/YEARS
1988-91 TORONADO AND TROFEO
This bulletin supplements Dealer Technical Bulletin 90-T-179.
Some 1988-1991 Toronado and Trofeo Models that have been parked at an angle (i.e., on a hill or two wheels in a ditch) either front to back or side to
side may exhibit a false low oil message. The angle of the vehicle causes the oil in the oil pan to flow away from the oil level switch. This condition is
normal and will not be corrected by replacing the oil level switch or oil pan.
If the low oil message occurs on level surfaces, (88-90 model vehicles) refer to Dealer Technical Bulletin 90- T-179 for diagnosis. Use the 1991
Toronado/Trofeo Service Manual 8D2-88 to diagnose this condition on 1991 models.
