Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

    When installing radio, be sure to adjust antenna trimmer for peak performance.

TORONADO

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove headlamp switch knob, radio knobs and steering column trim cover.

3.

Remove four screws from underside of lefthand trim cover.

4.

Remove lefthand sound absorber, then pull lefthand trim cover from instrument panel. It may be necessary to disconnect shift indicator cable
clip and lower steering column slightly to remove lefthand trim cover.

5.

Remove righthand sound absorber.

6.

Remove screw attaching instrument panel wiring harness to radio bracket and screw attaching radio to tie bar. Move tone generator aside, if
equipped.

7.

Remove four screws attaching radio mounting plate to cluster carrier.

8.

Disconnect antenna lead and radio wiring.

9.

Pull radio and mounting plate rearward to remove.
