Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove instrument panel as described under BODY ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND ENTERTAINMENT/INSTRUMENT PANELS AND
CLUSTERS/COMPONENT R & R PROCEDURES/DASH PANEL.

3.

Remove cover plate, then disconnect electrical connectors from blower.

4.

Remove blower retaining screws, then the blower.

5.

Remove expansion valve case screws, then the case.

6.

Remove heater pipe coupling and pipes.

7.

Remove evaporator assembly clips, evaporator assembly, then the case rim clips.

8.

Remove air inlet from the blower.

9.

Remove evaporator upper housing screw, then the upper housing.

10.

Remove the evaporator sensor, then the evaporator.

11.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Replace O-rings.
b. Check oil level in compressor.
c. Evacuate and recharge A/C system.
