Cooling Fan Relay - Retaining Clips May Fail

COOLING FAN RELAY RETAINING CLIPS - CHECKING/REPLACING AT P.D.I.

MODELS:

ALL 405 VEHICLES UP TO VIN 506898

In order to maximize customer satisfaction, please check the retention of the cooling fan relay mounting clips and replace them with a new type clip if
you find them loose during P.D.I. or at the first service

PART REQUIRED:

Relay Retaining Clip P/N 0065.47 (up to 3 per car)

VEHICLES AFFECTED:

All 405 models up to VIN 506898

NOTE:

3000 cars built prior to VIN 506898 have been checked and equipped as needed with the new type clip at the port prior to shipment to the U.S.
These cars will not require this modification and can be identified at P.D.I. by a white sticker on left rear door quarter window.

CHECKING/REPLACING PROCEDURE:

-

Remove front grille (two 10 mm hex bolts and two phillips-head screws

Check tightness of retaining clips by pulling on the three relays (A). If the clip does not pull out of the radiator shroud by hand pressure, its
retention can be considered acceptable and it does not need to be replaced

Replace any loose relay retaining clips using P/N 0065.47

Reinstall front grille
