JVC RADIO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

MODELS:

1991 MODEL YEAR 405 AND 505 DL VEHICLES

1991 Model DL vehicles will now be equipped with a JVC AM/FM stereo cassette radio. The installation of these radios is a
straightforward procedure similiar to the Clarion radio which has been supplied in the past.

INSTALLATION:

-

Remove the two red colored philips head screws from the top of the radio.

Note:

These screws hold the tape head in position during shipping and must be removed prior to installation and/or use of the radio.

Remove face plate trim ring by grasping it at either end and pulling straight off.

Push side locking clips in toward radio and remove mounting sleeve by sliding it off the back of the radio.

Fully install the mounting sleeve into dashboard opening.

Using a screwdriver or similiar tool (a radiator hose clamp tool such as Snap-On A173 works well for this) bend out the tabs on the mounting
sleeve to lock it in place as follows:

Bend up the three tabs on top of the sleeve along the front edge.
Bend out the four side tabs

Bend the two end tabs on the top of the sleeve (do not bend the center 

one). Send out the four side tabs and two bottom end tabs.

Plug in the antenna lead the red thirteen pin connector.

Slide the radio all the way into the dash until the locking tabs engage the mounting sleeve. Be sure the rubber support nipple on the back of
the radio is fully seated in its bracket in the dash.

Install the face plate trim ring.

Turn ignition key on and test radio operation on both the AM and FM bands.
