RESTORING WEATHERED AND FADED BLACK BODY TRIM
After prolonged exposure to sunlight, black plastic and rubber formed body parts such as side mouldings, bumpers, rearview mirrors, wiper arms, air
extractors, and window frames and mouldings may take on a dull, weathered finish with loss of color. Wax-based polishes and products made to protect
and shine black vehicle surfaces usually provide only provide partial and temporary restoration.
RECOMMENDED PRODUCT:
Excellent longer term results can be obtained with Penetrol, a special penetrating varnish available in quart cans under part number 0097.38
Carefully applied, Penetrol is an excellent and inexpensive product for reconditioning vehicles.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Remove wax with silicone & wax remover (available at body shop supply stores)

Only apply to clean, dry surfaces

It should be applied with a soft brush (preferably camel's hair) and allowed to be absorbed into the surface for 5 to 10 minutes. Then use a clean,
dry lint-free rag to wipe off any excess before any runs or drips harden.

Successive coats can be applied to obtain a deeper, richer surface finish allowing one hour drying time between coats.

CAUTION: Do not allow Penetrol to run down the vehicle's paint finish or remain on bright trim. Wipe off immediately with mineral spirits. Once
hardened it cannot be removed easily.
