FLICKERING OF DIGITAL DISPLAY - 1986 ALPINE RADIO
Complaint
The digital display and function inscription backlighting flicker under dawn or twilight conditions.
Cause The radio digital display must be bright during the day in order to be visible and dimmed at night to prevent a glaring appearance.
An optical sensor controls the intensity of the digital display and backlighting.
Despite a built-in delay, the display may flicker under varying cloud cover, tree cover, etc. or during dawn or twilight conditions.
THIS CONDITION IS NORMAL AND IS NOT A DEFECT. THEREFORE, DO NOT REPLACE-THE RADIO.
