Brakes - High Pitched Squeal

BULLETIN NO. 201

SUBJECT:

EXCESSIVE BRAKE SQUEAL

SYMPTOM: High pitched brake squeal when braking at various pedal pressures.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Install new semi-metallic brake pads as listed below.

IMPORTANT:

IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF SEMI-METALLIC BRAKE PADS TO REQUIRE A SLIGHTLY HIGHER BRAKE
PEDAL EFFORT, PARTICULARLY DURING BREAK-IN AND DURING THE FIRST FEW STOPS WHEN THE
BRAKE PADS ARE COLD. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR CUSTOMERS ACCORDINGLY. ONLY TRACE AMOUNTS
OF BRAKE SQUEAL MAY OCCUR OCCASIONALLY.
