TIGHTEN THE AERIAL GROUND STRAP TO BODY BOLT TO CRUSH THE STAR WASHER (SEE PAGE 2). THE STAR WASHER
MUST BE CRUSHED IN ORDER TO BITE INTO THE PAINT FOR SUFFICIENT METAL-TO-METAL CONTACT. GROUNDING
THROUGH THE SCREW ALONE IS INSUFFICIENT.

Pull the radio out enough to gain access to the antenna lead. Disconnect the antenna lead from the radio and the antenna. Temporarily substitute a
known good cable. If reception is improved, replace the original antenna lead.
