REVISED PAINT CODES ON MID 1987 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES SUPPLEMENT TO S.B. NO. 204
Beginning with October 1986 production, a revised paint code designation consisting of four digits instead of three has been introduced on mid-1987
model year vehicles.

The first two-digits of the paint code identifies the type of paint finish applied at the factory:
P0--:
Non-Metallic Color, Without Clear Coat
P2--:
Non-Metallic Two Tone, Without Clear Coat.*
P3--:
Non-Metallic Color, Single Stage Clear Coat.
M0--:
Metallic Single Stage Clear Coat.*
M1--:
Metallic Two Stage Clear Coat.
M2--:
Metallic Two Tone.*
M3--:
Metallic Two Tone, Two Stage Clear Coat.*
E0--:
Fleet Color Requirement.*

Not used at this time on any 1987 U.S. Models.
