FRONT PARKING LIGHT/TURN SIGNAL BULB HOLDER REPLACEMENT
MODELS:
ALL 505 VEHICLES UP TO VIN 427155
COMPLAINT:
Inoperative turn signal due to poor electrical contact between the bulb holder and the internal contacts in the front light housing.
DESCRIPTION:
Beginning with VIN 427156 all 505 models are equipped with a front parking light/turn signal assembly incorporating a new bulb holder with built-in
wiring adapter. The internal electrical contacts in the front light housing have been totally eliminated.
THIS NEW BULB HOLDER CAN BE USED TO REPAIR EARLIER PRODUCTION VEHICLES WITHOUT HAVING TO REPLACE THE
COMPLETE FRONT LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
PARTS REQUIRED:

Double Bulb Holder/Wiring Adapter P/N 6346.68 (one per side)
REAR VIEW OF TURN SIGNAL ASSEMBLY
REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Disconnect and remove the parking light/turn signal assembly.

Remove the two original bulb holders, retain the bulbs if they are still good, discard the bulb holders.

Remove the original wiring adapter by cutting it at the light housing just behind the terminal insulators (A).

Snap off the two plastic tabs (B) inside the front parking light bulb housing.
IMPORTANT:

Install the small parking light bulb into the new bulb holder with yellow and black wires.

Install the large turn signal bulb into the new bulb holder with blue and black wires.
Install the new bulb holders (P/N 6346.68) inside the original front light assembly housing:

Insert the small parking light bulb and holder on the side marked 5W on housing.

Insert the large turn signal bulb and holder on the side marked 21W on housing.
Reinstall and reconnect the parking light/turn signal assembly into the front bumper.
CHECK OPERATION OF LIGHTS:

Parking lights should be on the inboard side of the lens.
-
Turn signal lights should flash on the outboard side of the lens.
