Hub Cap - Correct Removal Procedure
BULLETIN NO. 327
DATE:
February, 1989
SUBJECT:
HUB CAP REMOVAL/POSSIBLE BREAKAGE
MODELS:
1986-89 505
Removing a hubcap using the method shown in the owner's manual may result in breakage. Please instruct your customers and personnel to use this
revised method of removal.
1986-87-88 505 GL HUB CAP REMOVAL:
Insert vehicle's jack handle into one of the two slots (1) opposite the valve slot (2), making sure that the "T" of the jack handle is lodged behind the hub
cap's circlip. This will cause the circlip to compress when pulling on the jack handle, thereby releasing the hub cap. If the "T" is not lodged behind the
circlip, the pulling of the jack handle against the plastic may cause the hub cap to break.
1989 505 DL HUB CAP REMOVAL:
To remove hub caps on DL models, carefully open the valve cap access door and gently pull the hub cap off. DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER AS IT
MAY DAMAGE THE HUB CAP.
