V6 ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK AFTER HOT SOAK
MODELS:
ALL 505 VEHICLES WITH ZN3J (V6) ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
COMPLAINT:
After driving for extended periods of time, especially in warm weather, the engine will not restart after a 30-40 minute hot soak.
REASON:
Excessive voltage drop in the starter wiring circuit when under hood temperatures are high. At times the voltage is reduced to a level where the starter
solenoid will not activate.
CORRECTION:
Install additional starter circuit bypass relay as outlined below.
