Suspension - Shocks Lack Effective Shock Absorption
Bulletin No. 123

Subject:
FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS SEALING RING 504/505/604
There have been several cases reported where new shock absorber assemblies have been returned under parts warranty for lack of effective shock
absorption.
Investigation has shown that the piston sealing ring (1) was not installed and had no doubt been thrown out with the packing and shipping material.
All current production replacement shock absorbers have the seal affixed to the piston to prevent such occurrences in the future.
In all cases, ensure that the seal is affixed to the shock absorber as shown below.
This sealing ring is available from N.P.D. under P.N. 5220.53.
