Console: Service and Repair
Console Assembly
CONSOLE (FRONT AND REAR)
1. Put automatic or manual transaxle shifter in neutral before removing console and disconnect battery.
2. Remove both side carpet panels from front console.
3. Remove two screw cover plates from rear console.
4. Remove coin holder then remove two rear console to front console mounting screws.
5. Remove two rear console to mounting bracket mounting bolts.
6. Remove rear console assembly.
7. Remove shift lever bezel.
Automatic Shift Lever Bezel
a. Remove two screws and pull up to remove automatic transaxle shift knob.
b. Lift shift lever bezel from front to unsnap from console and disconnect wiring harness.
c. Remove shift lever bezel.
Manual Shift Lever Bezel
a. Unscrew shifter knob from shifter.
b. Remove nut and lift ring from shaft.
c. Lift shift lever bezel from front to unsnap from console.
d. Remove shift lever bezel.
8. Remove two console to mounting bracket screws.
9. Remove six console to instrument panel screws.
10. Slide console assembly rearward to unlatch console from instrument panel, then remove console assembly.
11. Reverse above procedure for installation.
CONSOLE (FRONT ONLY)
Same as console (Front and Rear) except replace items 3-6 with "Remove coin holder, remove two console to mounting bracket screws then
remove console rear cap."
