Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor: Service and Repair

Automatic Idle Speed (AIS) Motor And Throttle Body Temperature Sensor - Early Model Year Convertible Only

1.

Remove the air cleaner and remove the throttle cables from the throttle body linkage.

2.

Remove the screws (2) from the throttle cable bracket and lay bracket aside.

3.

Disconnect the wiring connector from the sensor by pulling downward.

4.

Remove the sensor from the throttle body by unscrewing it.

5.

Apply heat transfer compound (supplied with sensor) to tip of new sensor.

6.

Install the sensor and torque to 80-120 lbs. in. (9-13.5 N-m).

7.

Connect wiring connector to sensor.

8.

Install throttle cable bracket, throttle cables, and air cleaner.
