SYMPTOM CONDITION
During extreme cold ambient temperature (+ 10~F or less) conditions, a long delay (as much as 10 minutes) may occur when changing the air
conditioning/heater mode switch from defrost to any other mode.

DIAGNOSIS
The delay in mode change from defrost to any other mode will most likely occur during ambient temperatures of + 10~F or less. The delay may be
caused by an air conditioning/heater vacuum control system check valve freeze-up condition.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
When a vehicle owner encounters the SYMPTOM/CONDITION described above, replace the vacuum control system check valve assembly with Part
Number 5264270, as listed under "PARTS REQUIRED." Refer to the following procedure.
