Window Regulator: Service and Repair
Rear Door Window Regulator

ELECTRIC REGULATOR
Removal

1. Remove trim panel.
2. Remove the watershield as necessary.
3. Prop glass 1/4 inch from "up" position.
4. Disconnect battery negative cable and the regulator motor wiring harness.
5. Remove regulator to regulator arm bolt.
6. Drill out the five rivets used to fasten the regulator to the door.
7. Rotate and remove regulator.

Installation

1. Load regulator assembly through access hole.
2. Secure regulator to door panel with rivets or 1/4-20 nuts and short length screws. If screws are used, make sure they are torqued to 10-18 Nm

(90-115 inch-pounds) and do not interfere with regulator operations.

3. Install regulator to regulator arm bolt and torque to 13 Nm (115 inch-pounds).
4. Connect regulator motor wiring harness and the negative battery cable.
5. Remove the prop, connect the power regulator operating switch, and test the glass system for proper operation.
6. Install the watershield and trim panel.

MANUAL REGULATOR
Removal

1. Remove trim panel.
2. Remove the watershield as necessary.
3. Prop glass 1/4 inch from "up" position.
4. Drill out three rivets on regulator and slide regulator roller off of glass lift channel.
5. Remove regulator assembly through access hole in door.

Installation

1. Load regulator assembly through access hole and engage regulator roller with lift channel.
2. Secure regulator to door panel with rivets or 1/4-20 nuts and short length screws. If screws are used, make sure they are torqued to 10-18 Nm

(90-115 inch-pounds) and do not interfere with regulator operation.

3. Remove the prop and test the glass system for proper operation.
4. Install the watershield and trim panel.
