8. Tighten cable adjuster nut (Fig. 38) to 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.).
CAUTION: When installing forward console, the console will contact nylon shift release plunger (Fig. 37). If care is not used, plunger may
break, requiring shifter assembly replacement.
9. Reinstall forward and rear floor consoles.
10. Install gearshift knob (Fig. 36) and tighten set screw to 2 Nm (20 inch lbs.).
11. Verify proper cable adjustment. Engine starter should only engage in PARK and NEUTRAL gear shifter positions. If adjustment is required, refer
to Adjustments.
