Symptom/Condition & Parts Required Information

SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Automatic Transaxle

^

Engine surges + or - 150 rpm from specification with air conditioning on.

^

Throttle opener adjustment erratic and difficult to set with air conditioning on.

Manual Transaxle

^

Engine speed increases to 1200-1600 rpm when air conditioning compressor cycles off.

Repair Procedure

Automatic Transaxle - 1.6 Liter Engine

Install tachometer and prepare vehicle for the following idle setting conditions:

Bring engine to full operating temperature..

^

All lights and accessories off.

^

Transaxle in neutral.

^

Parking brake applied.

^

Radiator fan off (disconnect fan if necessary).
