COLT VISTA W/2 WHEEL DRIVE & 1984 COLT
1. Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove dust cap from brake drum, then remove cotter pin and adjusting nut retainer.
3. Torque wheel bearing adjusting nut to 14 ft. lbs. and rotate drum several turns to seat bearings, then loosen adjusting nut.
4. Torque adjusting nut to 4 ft. lbs. for Colt and 1984-86 Colt Vista or 7 ft. lbs. on 1987-88 Colt Vista, rotate drum several times, then retorque nut to
4 ft. lbs. for all except 1987-88 Colt Vista or 7 ft. lbs. for 1987-88 Colt Vista.
5. Install nut retainer and cotter pin. If cotter pin holes are not aligned reposition retainer. If holes cannot be aligned, the adjusting nut may be backed
off a maximum of 15° to align holes.
6. Install dust cap on brake drum, then install wheel and tire assembly.
