With Carburetor on Bench:

Using special tool, turn the accelerator pump nut counterclockwise by 3 full turns. After turning nut to its new position, apply sufficient Loctite or
similar threaded fastener adhesive to lock the nut and stud. (See Figure 2.)

IMPORTANT:

On a few vehicles the accelerator pump nut may already have been readjusted at the factory. This can be determined by inspection. If
the nut is flush with the end of the threaded stud, the adjustment has been made and this step must be omitted.
