Poor Heater/Defroster Performance
MODELS:
1993 (B8) Colt Vista/Summit Wagon
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer complaints of extended time for the heater to supply warm air to the floor, or poor distribution of heated air to the defroster.
DIAGNOSIS:
Check the air ducts and rods to make sure they are not in the off position. Check that the engine is at full operating temperature and that an engine
cooling system problem does not exist. If all the above is correct, proceed with the following repair procedure.
NOTE:
SOME VEHICLES MAY HAVE ONLY A DEFROST DISTRIBUTION CONDITION, OTHERS MAY HAVE ONLY A POOR FLOOR AIR
DISTRIBUTION. PERFORM ONLY THE NECESSARY REPAIRS.

Procedure For Defroster Air Distribution Repair
This repair involves replacing the main defroster nozzle, left and right defroster ducts.

Remove the instrument panel as outlined in the appropriate service manual.
